The same familiar face

The doctor you want, is the one who'll still be there for you, even 10-20 years from now.

A lot of healthcare has become whoever's available on the day. You tell your story from the start each time, to someone who's never met you. That's fine for a one-off. But the things that matter over the years go better when your GP already knows you.

A regular GP who knows your history is a different experience. The small changes get noticed sooner, the advice fits your life, and you spend less time explaining and more time being looked after. Someone who keeps up with you as life changes, and is still your GP next year. That's what we're built around.

GP in Paddington

What a GP in Paddington actually does for you.

A general practice GP is your regular, first-port-of-call doctor for everyday and preventative care. At Paddington Doctors, your GP treats day-to-day health concerns, runs your checks and screening, manages ongoing conditions, and coordinates the rest of your care, all while keeping a continuous picture of your health over the years.

That last part is the bit that matters most. A GP who sees you once treats a moment. A GP who knows you treats a pattern. When the same doctor holds your history, the small changes get noticed sooner, the advice fits your life, and you spend less time starting from scratch.

Paddington Doctors is a modern, private general practice on Oxford Street. We're built around continuity: a regular GP you can keep seeing, supported by a wider team and a full set of services, so the everyday and the preventative live under one roof.

how it works

Becoming a patient at our Paddington practice is simple.

Book online through AutoMed, or call reception on (02) 9072 1660. Most of our GPs are accepting new patients, and same-day appointments are often available.

Come in, have a proper conversation, and see how it feels. You choose who you see, and you're welcome to try a couple of our doctors until you find your fit.

Once you've found your GP, keep seeing them. Over time they get to know your history and what "well" looks like for you, and your care gets better for it.

Care you can measure, not just claims.

Choosing a GP is a decision worth getting right, and it's easier to make when you can see the evidence, not just the claims. Rather than tell you we're thorough, we'd rather show you, in numbers that are independently measured and benchmarked.

Who's it for?

A good regular GP suits just about everyone, but it matters most when you want continuity: someone who knows your history and grows with you. If you're after a doctor you can keep, this is for you. If you only ever want a one-off, no-history, in-and-out visit, we're probably not the closest fit.

Ageing Well

Staying well takes a bit of attention now, the regular check-ins, the vaccinations, keeping an eye on what matters at your age. You want a steady GP who knows your history and helps you stay independent and active for as long as possible. That continuity is what we are built on.

New Mums

A new baby changes everything, and you want a practice that looks after both of you, immunisations and the Well Baby checks, plus your own recovery and wellbeing. Warm, modern and easy to book, with a GP who knows your family and grows with it over the years.

Working Well Professionals

You look after yourself and would rather get ahead of things than wait for them to go wrong. What is harder to find is a GP with time for the whole picture, who you can stay with as life changes. That is who we are here to be, for preventative care, family planning and the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register as a new patient at Paddington Doctors?

Just book your first appointment, there's no separate registration step. Book online through AutoMed or call reception on (02) 9072 1660. Most of our GPs are accepting new patients, and same-day appointments are often available.

Can I always see the same GP?

Yes, and we'd encourage it. You choose your regular GP and keep seeing them, which is the whole point of continuity. If they're away and you need to be seen, another of our doctors can help, and your full records come with you.

Will Medicare cover my visit?

Paddington Doctors is a private practice. A Medicare rebate applies to many consultations, and every fee, including rebates, is published on our fees page (paddingtondoctors.com/fees) so you can check before you book.

What does a GP at Paddington Doctors look after?

Everyday illnesses and injuries, preventative care and health checks, mental health and wellbeing, ongoing conditions like diabetes care and heart health, plus skin checks, travel medicine, men's and women's health, scripts, referrals and coordinating your specialists.

Are you accepting new patients?

Most of our GPs are. Book online or call reception on (02) 9072 1660 and we'll help you find a doctor who's a good fit and has availability.

Do I need a referral to see a GP?

No. You don't need a referral to see a GP. Book online through AutoMed or call reception on (02) 9072 1660.
