Everyday and preventative care from a regular GP and family doctor who knows your history, at Paddington Doctors.

A lot of us carry something for a while before we say it out loud. We tell ourselves everyone's tired, that it will lift on its own, that other people have it harder. Often, simply talking it through with someone who has the time makes the whole thing feel lighter and clearer.
You don't need a diagnosis, the right words, or a particular reason to book. Whatever has been on your mind is reason enough. A longer appointment is an unhurried, private place to start, with a GP who listens first, and then helps you work out what would genuinely help.

mental health care plan Paddington
A mental health care plan is a plan your GP prepares with you during a longer appointment. It sets out what you're experiencing and the support that would help, and it gives you access to Medicare-rebated sessions with a psychologist or other mental health professional. Your GP stays involved throughout.
Think of the plan as a door, not a label. It's a practical way to get structured, affordable access to support, and it puts your GP at the centre of your care rather than leaving you to find your own way through the system. You talk things through, your GP writes the plan with you, and that opens up a set of rebated sessions with a psychologist. Annabel Rolley is our Registered Psychologist on site, so your care can stay under one roof, with everyone working from the same picture of you.
A care plan is also reviewed. It isn't a one-off form and then you're on your own. Your GP checks in on how things are going, adjusts the plan if you need it, and stays part of your support for as long as it's useful.

We will ask you a series of questions that will guide your follow-up with an appointment coordinator.
how it works

This is for anyone going through a tough time, whether something specific has happened or you just haven't felt right for a while. People under pressure at work and at home, women taking charge of their wellbeing, and members of the LGBTQI+ community who want a GP who gets it, all find a place here. You don't need things to have reached a crisis point. If it's on your mind, it's reason enough to come in.

Book a longer appointment so there's time to talk things through. Your GP listens, and if a care plan is the right step, prepares it with you in that appointment. You don't need a referral, and you don't need to have things figured out beforehand.

Things tend to feel more manageable once you've said them out loud to someone with the time to listen. A longer appointment is a calm first step, and a mental health care plan can open the door to ongoing support, with your GP alongside you the whole way. Whatever this is, you don't have to carry it on your own.
